Twenty-seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year B

Genesis 2.7,15,18-24: "So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; then he took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man. Then the man said, 'This at last is bone from my bones and flesh from my flesh; this one shall be called Woman, for out of Man this one was taken.'"

"The marriage covenant, by which a man and a woman form with each other an intimate communion of life and love, has been founded and endowed with its own special laws by the Creator. By its very nature it is ordered to the good of the couple, as well as to the generation and education of children" (CCC 1660).

About Me

Fr. Seamus Hogan...
was born in downtown Toronto in 1973. The youngest of seven children, his Irish parents always kept him closely involved in the Church. After finishing high school he went on to York University in Toronto. It was only while studying at university that Fr. Seamus discerned a call to the priesthood. In 1997 he entered St. Augustine's Seminary in Toronto. In May 2002, after five years of prayer and study, he was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Toronto. After his ordination he served at Blessed Trinity parish in Toronto for three years, after which time he served at Merciful Redeemer parish in Mississauga. Since 2007 he has lived in Rome, where he is presently working on a doctorate in Church History at the Pontifical Gregorian University. Fr. Seamus is very happy to be a priest and is thankful that Christ has called him to follow him in the priesthood.
