Twenty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time (Year B)

St. Mark 7.31-37: "They brought to him a man who was deaf and had an impediment in his speech; and they begged him to lay his hands on him...Then looking up to heaven, he sighed and said to him, "Ephphatha", that is, "Be opened". And immediately the man's eyes were opened, his tongue was released and he could speak plainly."

Twenty-second Sunday in Ordinary Time (Year B)

St. Mark 7.1-8,14-15,21-23: "There is nothing outside a person that by going in can defile them, but the things that come out of a person are what defile them".

About Me

Fr. Seamus Hogan...
was born in downtown Toronto in 1973. The youngest of seven children, his Irish parents always kept him closely involved in the Church. After finishing high school he went on to York University in Toronto. It was only while studying at university that Fr. Seamus discerned a call to the priesthood. In 1997 he entered St. Augustine's Seminary in Toronto. In May 2002, after five years of prayer and study, he was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Toronto. After his ordination he served at Blessed Trinity parish in Toronto for three years, after which time he served at Merciful Redeemer parish in Mississauga. Since 2007 he has lived in Rome, where he is presently working on a doctorate in Church History at the Pontifical Gregorian University. Fr. Seamus is very happy to be a priest and is thankful that Christ has called him to follow him in the priesthood.
